Star Model PD Starvel Compact .45 ACP Semi-Automatic Pistol – 1990 Production
This 1990-dated Star Model PD in the Starvel electroless-nickel finish represents the final year of production for the Spanish maker’s lightweight .45 ACP compact. Built on an aluminum-alloy frame and finished to resist corrosion, it combines a 3.9-inch barrel, six-round single-stack magazine, and single-action operation in a package that set the stage for modern carry-size .45s.

What’s Included
- One factory 6-round stainless single-stack magazine for the Star Model PD
Introduced in 1975, the alloy-framed Model PD was designed for concealed carry and weighs several ounces less than steel-framed contemporaries. Its compact size, reliable feeding with standard-pressure .45 ACP loads, and manageable recoil made it popular with plainclothes officers and armed citizens.
The Starvel electroless-nickel finish coats both slide and frame, providing enhanced resistance to sweat and humidity while keeping glare to a minimum. Matching matte texture continues onto the aluminum alloy frame, slide serrations, and external extractor.
This pistol retains its original fixed sights: a serrated ramp front blade integral to the slide and a low-profile, drift-dovetail rear notch. Controls are straightforward, featuring a left-side thumb safety and standard magazine release.
An internal polymer recoil buffer—part of the original PD design—reduces frame battering and is replaceable as part of routine maintenance. Import marks from INTERARMS (Alexandria, Virginia) and the “★ STAR EIBAR SPAIN” logo remain sharp, verifying its Spanish manufacture and U.S. import history.
