Product Description

    Mauser C96 “Bolo” 7.63mm Semi-Automatic Pistol – Late Post-WWI Compact Variant

Produced in Oberndorf, Germany between 1923 and 1930, this Mauser C96 “Bolo” is the compact, Treaty-compliant version of the famed broom-handle pistol. A 3.9-inch barrel, shortened grip, and late-pattern safety lever distinguish it from earlier wartime models, while its integral 10-round magazine and stripper-clip charging system preserve the classic C96 profile. Collectors prize these inter-war Bolos for their limited production run, clear Mauser banner markings, and strong historical ties to revolutionary movements of the era.

    Condition

    Overall Condition: Poor

Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Rifling Condition: Good – Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The metal shows moderate scratching, scuffing, pitting, and blemishes. The hammer does not hold cock.

    What’s Included

    • Mauser C96 “Bolo” 7.63mm semi-automatic pistol

The Bolo variant was engineered to meet the barrel-length restrictions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. Its 3.9-inch barrel and compact grip make it noticeably shorter than standard C96 models while retaining the same 10-round capacity.

This example carries the Mauser banner on the left receiver panel and the full WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER OBERNDORF A/NECKAR legend on the right, verifying late-production factory origins. The step-frame receiver and small-ring external hammer are correct for this period.

The blued carbon-steel finish and missing lanyard ring reflect the traditional C96 configuration. The ladder-type tangent rear sight is graduated to 1000 meters, a feature maintained even on the compact model.

A new-pattern safety lever—introduced on post-WWI guns—adds functional improvement and helps date the pistol within Mauser’s inter-war production window.
