Smith & Wesson Model 500 X-Frame 8.38" .500 S&W Magnum Revolver – Satin Stainless, Interchangeable Compensator
Smith & Wesson’s X-Frame Model 500 earned its place in handgun history as the first production revolver chambered for the potent .500 S&W Magnum. This example pairs an 8.38" tension-sleeved barrel with an interchangeable compensator system that tames recoil for both jacketed and lead bullets. Built entirely from satin-finished stainless steel, it offers the strength required for high-pressure loads while remaining CA-compliant under SKU 163501A.

The massive X-Frame was engineered specifically for the .500 S&W Magnum, providing the cylinder wall thickness and topstrap rigidity needed for sustained use with high-pressure ammunition.
An 8.38" tension-sleeved barrel supports a full-length under-lug and accepts two factory-supplied compensators. One is optimized for jacketed projectiles; the other for lead, letting the shooter tailor muzzle control to the load.
The five-shot stainless cylinder is fluted, recessed, and counterbored for reliable cartridge support. A transfer-bar hammer block and internal key lock add passive and user-activated safety layers.
Target acquisition is streamlined by a Hi-Viz-style fiber-optic front ramp and a fully adjustable square-notch rear sight. A black synthetic Hogue-pattern grip with finger grooves helps manage recoil and offers a secure hold.
