Colt 2nd Model Dragoon F-Series .44 Blackpowder Revolver – 7.5" Barrel, Limited 2nd Generation Reproduction
This Colt 2nd Model Dragoon is part of the Blackpowder Series F-Series run manufactured between 1980 and 1982. Only about 2,700 units were produced, making this large-frame .44 a scarce, factory-authorized reproduction that continues the original Dragoon serial sequence. Matching numbers on all major components, authentic roll-engraved cylinder art, and Colt’s Hartford-made parts assembled under company supervision set this revolver apart for collectors and black powder shooters alike.

What’s Included

The open-top frame, long 7.5-inch barrel, and full-size grip faithfully mirror Colt’s original 1848–1850 Second Model Dragoon design, while modern steel and precise machining deliver reliable performance with black powder loads only.
The cylinder carries Colt’s factory roll-engraved Texas Ranger versus Comanche battle scene, complete with MODEL U.S.M.R and COLT’S PATENT panels—detail seldom found on reproductions outside the Blackpowder Series.
A color case-hardened frame contrasts with Colt Blue barrel and cylinder finishes, and the one-piece walnut grip retains the classic Dragoon profile. The flip-up rear leaf sight, paired with a brass blade front, offers a period-correct solution for longer-range shooting and is uncommon on most reproductions.
As an officially sanctioned second-generation model, the revolver was produced in Hartford using original-style tooling, then assembled and finished under Colt supervision, ensuring authentic dimensions and proper Colt markings throughout.
