Traditions Panther .50 Cal Percussion Sidelock Muzzleloader, 24" Octagonal Barrel, Synthetic Stock
This discontinued Traditions Panther combines classic sidelock operation with a lightweight, all-weather synthetic stock. Built in Spain by Ardesa and imported by Traditions, it features a 24-inch blued octagonal barrel, 1:49 twist, and light scroll engraving on the hammer and lock plate. Weighing about 6 pounds and measuring roughly 40 inches overall, it was one of the first mass-produced synthetic-stock muzzleloaders designed for hunters who needed reliability in any season.

What’s Included
- Traditions Panther .50 caliber percussion rifle
The Panther’s 24-inch blued steel octagonal barrel provides a balance of easy handling and consistent accuracy. The 1:49 twist rate is well-suited for patched round balls or conical bullets, giving the shooter flexibility in load selection.
A black polymer stock keeps weight to a minimum while resisting moisture and temperature changes. Molded checkering offers a firm grip, and factory-installed sling swivel studs make it ready for field carry.
Shooting is straightforward with an external hammer, single non-set trigger, and dependable percussion ignition. The brass half-moon front sight and elevation-adjustable buckhorn rear sight give a traditional sight picture that is quick to align.
Light factory scroll engraving on the hammer and lock plate adds a subtle touch of style without distracting from the rifle’s purpose-driven design. As a discontinued model, the Panther appeals to hunters and collectors looking for one of the earliest synthetic-stock sidelock muzzleloaders on the market.
