Mauser 1937 S/42 P.08 Luger 9mm Semi-Automatic Pistol with Wartime Proofs
Built at Mauser’s Oberndorf factory in 1937, this S/42-coded P.08 represents the last pre-war production run before full mobilization for WWII. The pistol retains its military 100 mm barrel, rust-blue finish, and correct Waffenamt Eagle/63 acceptance and Eagle/swastika firing proofs. A discreet “MADE IN GERMANY” export stamp confirms a post-war U.S. re-import, adding documented history for collectors.

What’s Included
- Mauser P.08 pistol
- 1× 8-round “fxo”-coded magazine with aluminum base
- Brown leather holster
Mauser marked this example with the S/42 toggle code and a chamber date of 1937, confirming authentic Oberndorf manufacture in the pivotal pre-war year. The primary serial number 7765 is present on major components, with arsenal-replaced small parts reflecting wartime service.
The pistol follows the standard German military “Kurz” configuration: 3.9 in (100 mm) barrel, short-recoil toggle-locked action, and 8-round detachable magazine. Chambered in 9mm Luger, it offers the classic balance and handling that made the Luger an enduring sidearm.
Forged carbon-steel construction, rust-blue finish, and original checkered walnut grips provide the solid feel and distinctive look collectors expect. Fixed iron sights include the dovetail-bladed inverted-V front and V-notch rear on the toggle.
Proof and acceptance markings remain clear, including the Eagle/63 Waffenamt stamps on the right receiver and the Eagle/swastika firing proof on barrel and toggle. The included C.G. Haenel “fxo” magazine and brown leather holster complete a period-correct package.
