Developed for special-operations requirements, the Mark 23 was engineered for extreme reliability, accuracy, and suppressor compatibility. Its 5.87-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel features polygonal rifling, an O-ring for consistent lock-up, and an M16×1 RH thread to accept HK’s original suppressor systems and modern equivalents.
The Flat Dark Earth polymer frame is a later commercial production variant (SKU 81000868) produced in smaller numbers than the standard black model. It retains the proprietary HK accessory rail that predates MIL-STD-1913 designs; adapters are available for users who prefer modern lights or lasers.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including dual manual safeties, a decocking lever, and oversized paddle magazine releases. An external hammer with half-cock notch works in concert with the match-grade DA/SA trigger, which includes an over-travel adjustment screw for a clean break.
The black Hostile-Environment nitro-carburized slide carries high-profile three-dot sights that clear most suppressor bodies and are fully adjustable for windage and elevation. A loaded-chamber indicator on the extractor offers quick visual and tactile status checks.
Proofed in Germany and imported by HKI Columbus GA, this Mark 23 combines a storied military lineage with features that still set a benchmark for large-frame .45 ACP pistols.
