Marlin produced over 11 million Model 60 rifles, and this example stands out for its North Haven origin and 2000 date code (serial prefix “00”). Rifles from this period are prized for retaining original manufacturing quality before production shifted.
The 22-inch carbon-steel barrel uses Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling and a 1:16 right-hand twist, giving the .22 LR cartridge excellent accuracy potential. Open sights consist of a hoodless ramp front and an elevation-adjustable rear leaf, ready for precise target work or plinking.
An automatic last-shot bolt hold-open, simple blowback action, and cross-bolt safety make operation straightforward and familiar. The gold-tone trigger adds a touch of visual distinction while maintaining Marlin’s crisp pull.
The hardwood stock features a straight comb, pressed checkering, and a smooth satin lacquer finish. Combined with the blued barrel and matte blue/black anodized receiver, the rifle presents a classic look that suits both field and range use.
