H&R Pardner Model SB1 12 Gauge Single-Shot Shotgun, 27.5 in Barrel, 3 in Chamber, Fixed Modified Choke
This Harrington & Richardson Pardner Model SB1 is a full-size, break-action 12 gauge built at the Ilion, New York plant between the late 1980s and 2014. Known for its rugged single-shot design, it offers a 3 inch chamber, a factory-fixed modified choke, and a side-lever opening system that sets it apart from earlier H&R Topper variants. A transfer-bar safety lets the gun be carried with the hammer forward, and the steel receiver is factory-drilled and tapped for scope bases, giving the user flexible sighting options.

The 27.5 inch steel barrel is permanently fitted with a modified choke, balancing pellet density and spread for versatile field use. Its 3 inch chamber accepts a broad range of 12 gauge loads, from light target shells to heavy hunting rounds.
A side-lever opening system simplifies loading and unloading, while the exposed hammer offers straightforward cocking and visual confirmation of status. The transfer-bar safety blocks the firing pin until the trigger is pulled, adding a layer of security when carrying the gun with a round chambered.
The blued steel receiver comes drilled and tapped from the factory, allowing easy installation of scope bases for hunters who prefer optics. H&R’s accessory-barrel program means compatible barrels in different gauges or configurations can be fitted, extending the gun’s utility.
Walnut-stained hardwood furniture features a pistol-grip stock with a 14 inch length of pull and a semi-beavertail forend that offers a solid grasp. A brass bead front sight provides a simple, durable aiming point.
