The original 1917 Enfield action retains its “U.S. MODEL OF 1917 – WINCHESTER” roll marks and the serial prefix 202, confirming WWI production lineage. Despite its military origins, the action has been drilled and tapped to accept the included quick-detach side scope mount, giving the shooter modern optic capability without permanently altering the rifle’s profile.
A custom sporter walnut stock features a Monte Carlo comb, right-hand cheek-piece, white-line spacers, and a contrasting grip cap. Sling-swivel studs are installed for field carry, while the pistol-grip shape provides a comfortable hold for precision shooting.
The 26-inch tapered barrel is chambered in .300 ALS and finished in polished blue to match the receiver. A ramped gold/brass bead front sight teams with an aftermarket receiver-mounted adjustable aperture rear sight, offering a clear iron-sight picture when the scope is detached.
Inside, the five-round internal magazine feeds smoothly thanks to the Enfield action’s generous magazine well and controlled-round feed. The cock-on-close bolt design is renowned for strength and reliability, making this rifle a capable hunting companion as well as a collectible example of surplus action craftsmanship.
