1987 Browning Citori Lightning Grade I 20 Gauge Over/Under Shotgun with 28" Vent Rib Barrels
Built by Miroku in 1987, this first-generation Browning Citori Lightning Grade I pairs classic Belgian design cues with Japanese manufacturing precision. Matching serial numbers, Grade I floral scroll engraving, and the original gold-plated single selective trigger give this 20 gauge over/under a distinctive, collectible appeal. Steel construction, polished blued finish, and gloss-finished walnut furniture round out a shotgun sized for upland hunting yet refined enough for the rack.

What’s Included
- Browning Citori Lightning Grade I 20 Gauge over/under shotgun
- Installed Invector choke tubes: Xtra-Full (top barrel) and Cylinder (bottom barrel)
Manufactured in 1987 (serial code “PR”), this early-production Lightning wears Browning’s original Invector choke system, allowing quick swaps for varied shooting roles. The installed Xtra-Full and Cylinder tubes provide a wide spread of pattern possibilities straight out of the box.
The 28-inch Special Steel barrels feature a ventilated rib topped with a single front bead for fast target acquisition. Chambered for both 2 3/4" and 3" shells, the gun balances well in the hands while retaining versatility for heavier upland or light waterfowl loads.
A tang-mounted safety doubles as the barrel selector, and the gold-plated single selective trigger offers crisp pulls shot to shot. Proof marks crown/SP and NP appear on the barrels, confirming factory inspection.
The polished blued receiver carries Browning’s Grade I floral scroll engraving, providing subtle elegance without excess ornamentation. Gloss-finished walnut furniture with checkering on the semi-pistol grip stock and Schnabel forend completes the classic Citori look.
