What’s Included
- Franchi 48 AL Field 28 Gauge shotgun
- M (Modified) screw-in choke tube installed
The 48 AL’s long-recoil action reduces felt recoil while maintaining a slim receiver profile. Shooters accustomed to the Browning Auto-5 lineage will recognize the familiar operating system, now updated with a lightweight aluminum alloy frame to shave ounces without sacrificing strength.
Franchi paired the matte black anodized receiver with satin-finished walnut furniture. Cut checkering on the pistol-grip stock and matching fore-end offers a secure grasp, and a rubber recoil pad caps the 14.25-inch length of pull for comfortable shouldering.
The 26-inch steel barrel is chrome-lined for corrosion resistance and fitted with a ventilated rib topped by a single white bead for quick sight acquisition. The included Modified choke extends versatility for upland birds or clays, while additional Benelli-pattern choke tubes can be added to tailor patterns further.
A 2 ¾-inch chamber feeds from the four-round tubular magazine, and a cross-bolt safety sits just behind the trigger guard for intuitive operation. Later-production Benelli USA import marks confirm its final production era before Franchi ended 48 AL manufacturing.
