Stevens Model 311A 20 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun – 28" Barrels, Fixed IC/Skeet, 1950 U.S. Production
Built in 1950, this Stevens Model 311A offers the rugged simplicity collectors expect from the classic American box-lock. Its forged-steel receiver carries a traditional case-colored finish, while 28-inch blued barrels are paired with fixed Improved Cylinder and Skeet chokes—an uncommon factory combination that broadens its field utility. Pre-1968 manufacture means no serial number was required, adding period authenticity. An aftermarket White Line Pachmayr pad improves shooting comfort without obscuring the shotgun’s walnut stock and distinctive arrow-style fore-end inlays.

What’s Included
- Stevens Model 311A 20 Gauge side-by-side shotgun
This shotgun retains the robust forged-steel box-lock action that made the 311 series a mainstay of mid-century American hunting. Internal hammers and double triggers deliver proven reliability and straightforward maintenance.
The 28-inch solid-rib barrels are chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells and wear fixed Improved Cylinder and Skeet chokes—ideal for upland birds and close-range clay work. Extractors lift spent hulls for easy removal without the extra complexity of ejectors.
Walnut furniture features a pistol grip stock, semi-beavertail fore-end, and decorative arrow-style inlays that give this utility gun a subtle touch of style. The oil finish remains intact, complementing the receiver’s case colors and barrel’s even blue.
A period-correct White Line Pachmayr ventilated recoil pad with spacer has been added, offering softer shoulder impact while preserving the shotgun’s classic profile.
Inspector/date codes “A J L D” and a circled “10” are stamped on the water table, providing factory proof and dating references for collectors.
