The heart of this rifle is a 16-inch 4140/4150 CMV steel barrel that is cryo-treated for stability and threaded 5/8-24 for muzzle devices. A 1:10" right-hand twist comfortably stabilizes the full range of .308 Win. and 7.62 NATO loads.
LMT’s patented monolithic upper receiver and quad-rail handguard are machined from a single block of 7075-T6 aluminum, creating a rigid platform with a continuous top rail and rock-solid return-to-zero for optics. The quick-change barrel system lets the user swap barrels with just a torque wrench, adding caliber or length flexibility without losing zero.
Ambidextrous controls—including bolt catch, magazine release, and safety selector—make the LM308MWS equally efficient for right- or left-handed shooters. The nickel-boron coated bolt carrier group resists fouling and simplifies cleaning, while the two-stage match trigger delivers a crisp, predictable break.
A six-position collapsible stock and Hogue rubber over-mold grip provide adaptable ergonomics. The Type III hard-coat anodized finish protects the receiver set against harsh environments, matching the durability expected from a service-grade firearm.
