The XD-M’s hammer-forged, match-grade barrel is built from steel and treated with Melonite for corrosion resistance. A recessed muzzle and precise 1:10 RH twist promote consistent accuracy with standard 9mm loads.
The slide features chevron serrations front and rear for confident manipulation, plus Springfield’s crossed-cannon crest on top. Its matte black Melonite finish resists wear and complements the black polymer frame.
Safety is layered: a grip safety, trigger safety tab, loaded chamber indicator, and striker status indicator give immediate visual and tactile status checks without external levers. The ambidextrous magazine release supports left- or right-handed shooters.
Ergonomics are customizable through a modular back-strap system, while an integral MIL-STD-1913 rail accepts lights or lasers. Steel three-dot sights—front blade and Novak-style rear—offer a clear sight picture.
Serial numbers match on slide, barrel, and frame, and the included paperwork confirms factory inspection in 2014 at the Croatian production facility.
