Remington Model 760 Gamemaster .30-06 Pump-Action Rifle – Standard Grade, Pre-1968
This Remington Model 760 Gamemaster is a Standard Grade, full-size pump-action rifle chambered in .30-06. Built before 1968, it carries the classic “wing” checkering pattern introduced circa 1965 and features the Gamemaster’s signature detachable box magazine and 14-lug rotating bolt. A 22-inch carbon-steel barrel, blued steel receiver, and gloss-finished walnut furniture give it the period-correct look collectors value, while the included Redfield and Weaver scopes add practical versatility for the field or range.

What’s Included
- Redfield 3-9x rifle scope
- Weaver fixed-power scope with gloss-blued bases and rings
- Aftermarket 10-round steel detachable box magazine
The Model 760 was the first high-power pump-action rifle to use a detachable box magazine, allowing quick reloads without disturbing the shooter’s position. This example is currently fitted with an aftermarket 10-round magazine, a feature hunters appreciate for fast follow-up shots.
The pre-1968 serial number places production in the mid-1960s, aligning with the Standard “A” grade’s impressed wing checkering. The gloss-finished walnut stock sports a Monte Carlo comb, pistol grip, checkering, and a ventilated recoil pad that helps manage .30-06 recoil.
A 22-inch carbon-steel barrel and blued steel receiver form a durable, corrosion-resistant platform. The 14 interrupted-thread locking-lug bolt—a design borrowed from Remington’s Model 721—delivers strong lockup for consistent accuracy.
Factory iron sights—ramped bead front and dovetail-adjustable rear—remain intact. The rifle is already fitted with Weaver scope bases and rings, plus two quality optics: a fixed-power Weaver for a low-profile setup and a variable 3-9x Redfield for longer shots. Either can be mounted without additional hardware.
