What’s Included
- Winchester Model 1200 Defender 12 Gauge pump shotgun
The Defender configuration features a fixed-cylinder 18.5-inch steel barrel that keeps overall length short while retaining a full 7-round tubular magazine, giving the shooter 7+1 capacity with 2 3/4-inch or 3-inch shells.
Winchester’s four-lug rotating bolt locks directly into the barrel for strong steel-on-steel engagement, a design that enhances durability under extended use.
The anodized aluminum receiver holds weight to roughly 6.5 pounds, making the gun quicker to mount and easier to maneuver in confined spaces compared with steel-receiver counterparts.
Hardwood furniture includes a grooved forend for positive grip and a ventilated recoil pad that softens felt recoil. The plain brass bead front sight offers a clean, unobstructed sight picture.
Manufactured in Winchester’s New Haven, Connecticut plant, this Model 1200 Defender carries the oval WP proof mark and shares barrel threads and many internal parts with later Model 1300 and current SXP shotguns, simplifying future maintenance and customization.
