This Thompson Center Renegade is a classic .50 caliber percussion rifle built in the United States and known for its sturdy blued-steel construction, heavy 1-inch octagon barrel, and adjustable double-set trigger system. The 26-inch blued steel barrel is cut in a full one-inch octagon profile, providing extra mass for steady aim and improved heat management. Its 1:48 twist rate offers reliable accuracy with both patched round balls and heavier conical projectiles.
An external hammer percussion lock ignites standard #11 caps, and the lock plate carries light scroll engraving direct from the factory. A single wedge key secures the barrel to the walnut stock, simplifying takedown for cleaning.
The double-set trigger system lets the shooter choose between a standard pull or a lighter, set pull for precision shots. Steel furniture complements the blued finish, echoing traditional styling while maintaining durability in the field.
Sighting is handled by a ramped blued blade front sight and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, giving ample adjustment range for various loads and distances. At roughly 8 lb unloaded with a 13.5-inch length of pull, the Renegade offers a solid yet manageable platform for hunting or range work.
