The blued octagonal barrel is clearly roll-marked “BLACK POWDER ONLY 44 CAL,” underscoring its intended use with loose powder and ball. The 1:30 right-hand twist stabilizes traditional .44 caliber round balls for accurate shooting at typical black-powder distances.
A six-shot blued-steel cylinder includes safety notches between chambers, allowing the hammer to rest securely when carried capped. The solid top-strap frame, a signature of the Remington design, provides added strength compared with open-top contemporaries.
The carbon-steel frame and cylinder wear a deep, even blue, complemented by a brass trigger guard that adds a period-correct touch. Fixed iron sights consist of a front post and a rear notch cut into the hammer nose, true to the original 19th-century configuration.
Italian Gardone proof marks and the serial number 214358 on the grip strap verify factory manufacture in 1996 (date code “CM”). For shooters and collectors who appreciate historically accurate reproductions, this revolver delivers classic style with modern manufacturing consistency.
