Built on the proven AR-15 platform, the CR6920 uses Colt’s direct-impingement system and a carbine-length gas tube for reliable cycling with standard 5.56mm NATO ammunition. The upper receiver features white T-numbered picatinny slots for consistent optic re-attachment, while the lower is marked “CARBINE CAL. 5.56 MM” and carries Colt’s Hartford, Connecticut roll marks.
The 16.1-inch barrel is chrome-lined, proof-marked “C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7,” magnetic-particle inspected, and threaded 1/2-28. An A2 flash hider, M4 feed ramps, and an M203 grenade-launcher notch round out the military-grade profile.
Furniture is classic and functional: a six-position collapsible stock, A2-style pistol grip, and ribbed polymer M4 handguards with double heat shields. The forged front sight base incorporates both a bayonet lug and an A2 front sight post; a Matech-pattern flip-up rear BUIS is included.
