CVA Hawken .50 Cal Percussion Rifle — 28-Inch Octagonal Barrel, Double-Set Triggers, Custom Brass Star Patchbox
This CVA Hawken percussion rifle combines the classic full-stock mountain-rifle profile with a 28-inch octagonal barrel and a 1:48 twist. Produced in Spain by Dikar between the 1970s and 1994, it represents the popular reproduction era of Hawken-style muzzleloaders. Brass furniture, double-set triggers, and a browned/plum finish underscore its traditional build, while a unique owner-installed brass star patchbox inlay sets this example apart for collectors and shooters alike.

What’s Included
- CVA Hawken .50 caliber percussion rifle with aftermarket brass star patchbox inlay
The 28-inch octagonal barrel is finished in a browned/plum tone that complements the brass butt-plate, trigger-guard, nose cap, and thimbles.
A double-set trigger system allows the shooter to use the front trigger conventionally or “set” the rear trigger for a lighter, precision release. The external hammer is configured for #11 percussion caps, keeping operation consistent with traditional sidelock practice.
Sights consist of a dovetailed blade up front and a drift-adjustable semi-buckhorn rear, providing a familiar sight picture for both target work and hunting applications. The 1:48 twist rate supports a wide range of .50-caliber conical bullets and patched round balls.
The hardwood stock carries a dark stain and remains uncheckered, reflecting the period-correct Hawken look. The owner-added brass star patchbox not only offers extra storage for patches or caps but also gives this rifle a one-of-a-kind appearance without altering its functional integrity.
