Remington Model 7400 Carbine .30-06 Semi-Automatic Rifle – 18.5" Barrel, 1993 Manufacture
This 1993 Remington Model 7400 Carbine combines the trusted Model 7400 gas-operated action with a shorter 18.5-inch barrel, making it lighter and handier than the standard rifle length. Built with a blued carbon-steel barrel and a black anodized aluminum receiver, it offers a durable, corrosion-resistant package that still retains classic walnut furniture. For hunters and collectors seeking a compact, American-made autoloading .30-06 that takes the same magazines as the earlier Model 742/740 family, this carbine stands out.

Remington produced the Model 7400 Carbine for shooters who wanted the proven semi-auto action in a more compact format. The 18.5-inch carbon-steel barrel keeps overall length down while maintaining full .30-06 performance.
The gas-operated system cycles smoothly, feeding from the included 4-round detachable magazine that is compatible with earlier Model 742/740 magazines. This shared magazine family adds convenience for owners with multiple Remington autoloaders.
A satin walnut Monte Carlo stock and beavertail fore-end give the rifle a traditional look and a comfortable cheek weld. Checkering on both grip surfaces aids control in wet or gloved hands, and a factory black plastic buttplate finishes the stock.
The receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory, and quick-detach rings are already mounted, so adding an optic is straightforward. For iron-sight use, the rifle retains its ramped front blade and folding rear leaf sight.
Marked with Remington’s “REP” proof, this U.S.-made carbine reflects the quality of early 1990s Remington manufacturing, combining reliability, classic styling, and a handy profile in a single package.
