The XD Service Model is Springfield Armory’s original duty-sized variant, combining a full grip length with a balanced 4-inch barrel. This example retains the factory 10-round magazines, making it ready for states with magazine capacity limits.
Its forged carbon-steel slide and hammer-forged barrel receive a Melonite treatment inside and out, delivering a hard, corrosion-resistant surface. The clean bore and sharp rifling reflect minimal firing time.
An integral grip safety, trigger safety blade, internal striker block, loaded-chamber indicator, and striker-status indicator provide multiple layers of passive protection without adding external levers. The ambidextrous magazine release supports left- or right-handed operation.
Front and rear slide serrations offer positive manipulation, while steel three-dot sights give a clear sight picture. A molded accessory rail accommodates lights or lasers, enhancing versatility for defensive or range use.
