Marlin XT-17 .17 HMR Bolt-Action Rifle – 22-Inch Blued Barrel, Walnut-Finished Hardwood Stock, Optics-Ready
Marlin’s XT-17 pairs the flat-shooting .17 HMR cartridge with a smooth bolt-action, a 22-inch blued barrel, and a walnut-finished Monte Carlo stock. Built at the Mayfield, Kentucky plant and now discontinued, this rifle features Marlin’s user-adjustable Pro-Fire trigger and an optics-ready receiver that is drilled, tapped, and grooved. Its clean lines, practical features, and limited production run from 2011–2020 make it a solid choice for shooters who value accuracy and collectability.

What’s Included
- Weaver-style two-piece scope bases (installed)
The 22-inch blued steel barrel is cut with a 1:9 right-hand twist tailored to the lightweight .17 HMR projectile, helping maintain velocity and tight groupings at distance.
Marlin’s Pro-Fire trigger lets the shooter fine-tune pull weight via an external set screw, offering a crisp break without disassembly. A red cocking indicator provides immediate visual status.
The hardwood stock sports a Monte Carlo comb for a comfortable cheek weld with optics, while factory sling swivel studs simplify field carry and benchrest setup.
The receiver carries both industry-standard scope base holes and 3/8-inch grooves, giving the buyer instant flexibility to mount rimfire rings, the included Weaver bases, or other optics solutions.
This XT-17 accepts the same detachable magazines used in the earlier Marlin 917 series, making spares easy to source. The two-position manual thumb safety and two-position magazine release add familiar, straightforward control.
