Smith & Wesson’s first production folding pistol-caliber carbine, the M&P FPC, offers a compact 9mm platform that collapses to just 16.4 inches while keeping its full-length optics rail aligned. A lightweight 5.03-pound build, three included magazines, and full compatibility with M&P9 pistol mags make this carbine an adaptable option for range use, backpack transport, or duty as a trunk gun.

Introduced in February 2023, the M&P FPC is built around a side-folding design that hinges forward of the receiver. When folded, the carbine measures just 16.4 inches, yet the monolithic Picatinny rail stays true to any mounted optic for immediate deployment.
The polymer stock houses two spare M&P9 magazines, and the carbine feeds from the same double-stack mags used in M&P9 pistols—streamlining ammo and magazine logistics. A reversible magazine release supports left- or right-handed shooters.
The 16.25" 4140 CM steel barrel is threaded 1/2-28 TPI for suppressors or muzzle devices and sits inside a free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard ready for lights, lasers, or accessories. The flat-face M&P trigger and cross-bolt safety provide familiar controls for M&P pistol owners.
An integrated recoil-buffer system reduces reciprocating mass compared with typical AR-pattern PCCs, contributing to the FPC’s smooth blowback operation and controllable muzzle movement during rapid strings.
