Mossberg Model 500AB 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun, 28-Inch Barrel, 5+1 Capacity
This early-production Mossberg 500AB pairs the proven dual-action-bar design with a 28-inch plain barrel and a fixed Modified (IC) choke. Chambered for both 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells, it offers the broad load versatility that has kept the Model 500 family the highest-produced pump shotgun line in the world. Hardwood furniture with cut checkering, a tang safety, and a lightweight aluminum-alloy receiver round out a workhorse package made in the United States during the 1970s.

What’s Included
- Mossberg Model 500AB 12 Gauge pump-action shotgun
The 28-inch carbon-steel barrel wears a polished blued finish and is fitted with a fixed Modified (IC) choke, giving balanced patterns for field or clay work without the need for interchangeable tubes.
An aluminum-alloy receiver keeps weight down while maintaining durability. The black anodized finish contrasts with the gloss hardwood stock and slide-handle, both featuring factory diamond checkering for a positive grasp even when wet.
The shotgun uses the Mossberg dual-action-bar system for smooth cycling and long-term reliability. A 5+1 tubular magazine provides solid capacity, and the tang-mounted safety is instantly accessible for both right- and left-handed shooters.
Because this is a standard 500A pattern, the barrel can be swapped with other 12-gauge Mossberg 500A barrels, allowing easy configuration changes for different shooting roles.
