Savage MSR 15 Recon LRP .224 Valkyrie Semi-Automatic Rifle with 18-Inch 5R Barrel
The Savage MSR 15 Recon LRP is purpose-built to stretch the .224 Valkyrie cartridge to its long-range potential. From its 18-inch carbon-steel barrel with 5R rifling and QPQ Melonite finish to a factory-installed, 3-port tunable muzzle brake and two-stage nickel-boron trigger, every component is selected for accuracy and consistency. An adjustable mid-length gas system and free-float M-LOK handguard round out a package that is ready for precise semi-auto performance right out of the box.

What’s Included
- Caldwell pivot bipod mounted on M-LOK sling-stud adapter

The 18-inch barrel uses 5R rifling to reduce bullet deformation and fouling, helping maintain velocity and accuracy over extended strings of fire. Its QPQ Melonite treatment adds surface hardness for long service life, while 1/2-28 threads accept the included muzzle brake or other muzzle devices.
Savage’s two-stage match trigger breaks at roughly 4.5 pounds, offering a clean, predictable pull that supports precise shooting at distance. A forged multi-caliber lower receiver and free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard keep weight manageable while providing ample attachment points for accessories.
The direct-impingement action is tuned by an adjustable mid-length gas system, allowing the shooter to fine-tune cycling for different loads or suppressed use. A six-position collapsible stock and textured polymer grip give a comfortable, adaptable interface.
Designed around the high-velocity .224 Valkyrie round, the MSR 15 Recon LRP delivers flatter trajectories and reduced wind drift compared to traditional .22-caliber AR cartridges, making it a capable option for target shooting and varmint hunting alike.
