The SOCOM 16 short-stroke gas system and 16.25-inch carbon-steel barrel give this rifle quick balance while maintaining the .308 Win. punch. A proprietary muzzle brake tames recoil and preserves flash signature, making rapid follow-up shots easier.
A forward scout Picatinny rail is machined into the barrel, allowing low-mounted optics without interfering with the iron sights. The sights themselves feature an XS tritium front post and a ghost-ring rear aperture fully adjustable for windage and elevation, maintaining the M1A’s proven sight picture in low light.
The receiver is forged from 8620 alloy steel, parkerized to match the barrel and gas system. A GI surplus bolt marked 7790186-SA F001854 is fitted, preserving compatibility with standard M14 pattern components.
Controls remain familiar: a standard magazine release, two-stage National Match tuned trigger averaging 5 lb, and an ambidextrous safety within the trigger guard. The fixed glass-fiber-reinforced polymer stock offers a 13.1-inch length of pull, textured grip surfaces, and pairs with the installed Tac-Pro cheek rest for a solid cheek weld when running optics.
