Introduced in 1912, the Model 12 earned a reputation for reliability that kept it in production until 1964. This 1947 example represents the first full peacetime production run after 1947, preserving design features valued by sportsmen and agencies alike.
The 28-inch steel barrel carries a fixed FULL choke for tight patterns on distant birds or clays, while the 2 3/4" chamber accommodates standard 12 gauge loads. A single steel bead front sight provides a clear, uncomplicated sight picture.
Winchester’s takedown system allows the barrel and magazine assembly to separate from the receiver without tools, making transport and maintenance straightforward. The action remains notably smooth, and the original slam-fire trigger lets the shooter keep the trigger depressed while cycling the fore-end for rapid follow-up shots if desired.
Original walnut stock and fore-end retain their straight-comb, uncheckered Field Grade configuration. Length of pull measures 14.0", and the blued steel receiver bears the correct Winchester oval “WP” proof mark.
