Designed for USSOCOM, the Mark 23 combines military-grade reliability with commercial availability. The cold-hammer-forged barrel features polygonal rifling and an O-ring lock-up that helps maintain sub-2-inch accuracy at 25 meters. Its M16×1 RH threads simplify suppressor attachment.
The glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame hosts an integral proprietary accessory rail for lights and lasers. Dual captive recoil-buffer springs lessen felt recoil and extend the pistol’s claimed 30,000-round service life.
An ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release, combination safety/decocker lever, and loaded-chamber indicator provide intuitive, glove-friendly controls. High-profile three-dot sights and a long 7.76-inch sight radius support fast target acquisition.
The steel slide wears HK’s corrosion-resistant Hostile Environment finish and carries German CIP eagle N and CE proof marks, along with an HKI Columbus, GA import stamp. Serial prefix 23-031620 with “DE” proof indicates post-2005 German commercial proof standards.
