Kimber Micro 9 Rapide (Black Ice) 9mm Limited-Edition Compact 1911 with Laser Grip
The Micro 9 Rapide (Black Ice) distills Kimber’s full-size Rapide styling into a sub-compact 1911 platform. Limited annual production, a DLC-coated match-grade barrel, and a striking two-tone KimPro II finish set this special-edition pistol apart. Add the factory-installed TruGlo TFX Pro sights and an aftermarket laser-grip module, and you have a carry-size handgun that offers rapid target acquisition and premium build quality in a lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum frame.

Built on the compact Micro 9 frame, this Rapide variant retains the 1911 operating system while trimming weight and length for discreet carry. The 3.15-inch stainless match barrel wears a DLC coating that enhances surface hardness and corrosion resistance.
The two-tone Silver/Grey KimPro II finish extends to the stepped slide, which features aggressive front and rear cocking serrations and lightening ports borrowed from Kimber’s full-size Rapide line. A skeletonized aluminum trigger breaks at roughly 7 pounds, paired with a commander-style hammer for fast follow-up shots.
Controls mirror a true 1911: single-action, locked-breech operation with an ambidextrous thumb safety, a grip safety, and a firing-pin block. An integral silver-anodized funnel mag-well speeds reloads.
TruGlo TFX Pro tritium/fiber-optic sights combine an orange-ringed front dot with dual green rear dots for high contrast in any light. The aftermarket laser-grip module adds a visible aiming option without altering the pistol’s slim profile.
As part of Kimber’s Special Edition line, the Micro 9 Rapide (Black Ice) is produced in limited numbers each year, giving collectors and serious shooters a compact 9 mm with distinctive aesthetics and verified performance enhancements.
