The Ultra RCP II Custom Shop LG is a factory-built, carry-optimized 1911 that pairs Kimber’s match-grade 3-inch bull barrel with a de-horned “carry-melt” profile and trench sighting system. Produced in limited numbers from 2003 to 2015 and now discontinued, this model eliminates external sights in favor of an integral full-length gutter and factory-installed Crimson Trace Lasergrips, making it a rare, collectible variant within Kimber’s lineup.

This Ultra RCP II originates from Kimber’s Custom Shop and carries the KU serial prefix unique to the model. The compact aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight down while retaining the durability expected of a duty-ready 1911. Matte black finishes on both slide and frame reduce glare and complement the pistol’s low-profile design.
The slide features rear-only cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and Kimber’s integral full-length trench sight with a single reference dot at the rear. Combined with factory Crimson Trace Lasergrips, the system offers rapid target acquisition without protruding sights that can snag during the draw.
A match-grade, ramped, bushing-less bull barrel ensures reliable feeding and tight lock-up. The 1-in-16 left-hand twist further stabilizes the .45 ACP projectile from the compact 3-inch tube, while the under-lug design concentrates weight forward for smoother recoil management.
Carry-oriented touches include a bobbed hammer, rounded heel mainspring housing, 30 LPI front-strap and under-guard checkering, and Kimber’s signature carry-melt de-horn that softens every edge. The single-action trigger is match-grade, and an extended thumb safety provides positive on-off engagement.
