Introduced in 2019, the P17 stands out for packing 16+1 rounds of .22 LR into a compact, suppressor-ready package. The steel barrel is threaded 1/2-28 TPI at the factory, allowing direct attachment of common rimfire suppressors or muzzle devices without the need for aftermarket work.
Controls are fully ambidextrous. Both the paddle-style magazine release and the manual safety are mirrored on each side of the frame, giving equal convenience to right- and left-handed shooters. A single-action trigger and hammer-fired design provide a crisp break uncommon in pistols at this price point.
Kel-Tec’s polymer clamshell slide keeps weight exceptionally low while still housing steel internal rails for durability. Rear cocking serrations offer a positive grasp, and the molded accessory rail ahead of the trigger guard accepts compact weapon lights or lasers.
Sights consist of a high-visibility green fiber-optic front post paired with an adjustable rear notch that can be dialed for both windage and elevation. Combined with the long sight radius relative to its size, the P17 promotes quick acquisition and precise shot placement.
