Produced in the late 1970s to early 1980s, this Mountain Rifle predates the Spanish-made CVA guns, as confirmed by the absence of foreign proof marks. The Douglas barrel is a notable upgrade over later models, valued for consistent bore dimensions and strong reputation among traditional muzzleloader enthusiasts.
The 32-inch octagonal barrel, coupled with the slow 1:66 twist, is tailored for patched round ball loads, delivering period-correct ballistics and smooth recoil. A hooked breech allows the barrel to pivot out of the stock for easier cleaning at the range or camp.
