Sig Sauer P245 Compact .45 ACP German-Made DA/SA Pistol – Early Stamped-Slide Model
The Sig Sauer P245 is the first compact pistol from SIG chambered in .45 ACP, produced in Germany between 1997 and roughly 2004 and now discontinued. This early example carries the desirable German proof marks and a lightweight stamped steel slide, giving buyers a chance to own a harder-to-find configuration with authentic import markings from SIGARMS Exeter, NH.

Compact yet chambered for the proven .45 ACP, the P245 delivers a 6 + 1 capacity in a frame that conceals more like a mid-size 9 mm. Its aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight down, while the stamped slide and Nitron finish provide the classic German SIG profile.
A double-action/single-action trigger system offers a smooth initial pull followed by a light, crisp reset for subsequent shots. The automatic firing-pin safety block, passive disconnector, and hammer safety intercept notch together supply robust internal safety without external levers.
Fixed three-dot contrast sights present a clear sight picture. Rear vertical cocking serrations make slide manipulation straightforward, and the spur hammer supports positive thumb control for manual decocking with the side-mounted lever (not included in the safety list, but standard on DA/SA SIG pistols).
The P245 accepts only its own single-stack magazines, a point collectors appreciate because it underscores the model’s unique place in SIG’s lineup. Discontinued and less common than its P220 sibling, German-marked stamped-slide versions such as this one continue to draw interest among SIG enthusiasts and .45 ACP compact carriers alike.
