Colt Cowboy 5.5-Inch .45 Colt Single-Action Revolver, Mfg. 2001
The Colt Cowboy offers classic single-action handling with a modern transfer-bar safety, making it the only Colt revolver to feature this factory system. Built in 2001 during the model’s short 1998–2003 production run, this 5.5-inch “Artillery” length revolver combines traditional Colt styling with cost-saving investment-cast construction that helped bring a genuine Colt to a wider audience.

What’s Included
- Colt Cowboy 6-shot revolver
Produced in the United States, the Colt Cowboy was designed as a budget-friendly alternative to the Single Action Army, yet it retains many hallmark Colt features. The frame wears a color case-hardened finish that contrasts with the deep-blued cylinder and barrel, giving the revolver a classic, two-tone appearance.
The investment-cast carbon steel frame and cylinder provide strength while keeping manufacturing costs down. Colt’s wide, integral ramp front sight and top-strap notch rear sight deliver a traditional sight picture suited to plinking, competition, or range use.
The transfer-bar safety allows the revolver to be safely carried with all six chambers loaded, a practical upgrade over earlier Colt single actions that required an empty chamber under the hammer. An exposed hammer and smooth single-action trigger maintain the crisp feel collectors expect.
A black checkered composition grip offers a secure hold without distracting from the revolver’s period-correct lines. The “TF” serial prefix is unique to the Cowboy series, verifying its place within this limited production run.
