The 5-inch Tactical barrel length enhances velocity and provides a longer sight radius, boosting practical accuracy without adding excessive weight. The forged steel barrel and slide are treated with Melonite nitrocarburizing for deep-lying corrosion resistance and a non-reflective black finish.
A slim 1.2-inch grip houses single-stack 10-round magazines, giving shooters a manageable circumference while maintaining .45 ACP capacity compliant with low-capacity jurisdictions. Forward and rear cocking serrations on the slide aid manipulation, even with gloves or under stress.
The XD’s triple passive safety system—grip safety, two-piece trigger with pivoting inner safety lever, and firing-pin block—works automatically without external levers. Combined with its striker-fired action, the pistol delivers a consistent trigger pull from the first to the last round.
