Ruger 9E 9mm Luger Full-Size Striker-Fired Pistol, 4.14 in Barrel, 17+1 Capacity
The Ruger 9E is the cost-efficient member of the SR-Series, produced from 2014 to about 2017. It kept the SR9’s proven striker-fired system while streamlining features to deliver reliable performance at a lower price. This 2017 example offers a slim 1.27-inch grip that still holds a 17-round magazine, an integral accessory rail, and Ruger’s ambidextrous safety system—all in a package that weighs in as a true full-size duty pistol.

What's Included
- Ruger 9E 9mm pistol
- One 17-round factory Ruger SR-Series steel magazine
Introduced as the “Essential” variant of the SR9, the 9E deletes the pop-up loaded-chamber indicator in favor of a simple inspection port and uses a black oxide finish to keep costs down without sacrificing durability.
The full-size frame houses Ruger’s reversible magazine release and ambidextrous manual thumb safety, making the pistol adaptable for left- or right-handed shooters. A pivoting trigger with integrated blade safety adds another passive safeguard.
Construction is modern and robust: a stainless steel barrel, black oxide–finished slide with rear cocking serrations, and a glass-filled nylon frame that resists weather and hard use. The integral rail accommodates lights or lasers, and fixed three-dot sights give a clear, consistent sight picture.
This particular pistol was manufactured in 2017, the final year of 9E production, and carries the SR-Series 338-prefix serial range that identifies the line. Its short production run adds a measure of collectability while still serving as a practical 17+1 sidearm.
