Izhevsk IJ70-17A .380 ACP Makarov Export Pistol | Blued Steel, Adjustable Sight, Box & Accessories
The IJ70-17A is the factory .380 ACP export version of the Russian Makarov, built at Izhevsk Arsenal and imported by K.B.I. of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in the early 1990s. This example retains its polished commercial blued finish, fully adjustable rear sight, and matching-serial Baikal box, making it a clean, complete, and collectible post-Cold-War variant.

Built on the proven Makarov design, the IJ70-17A adapts the platform to .380 ACP to satisfy U.S. sporting-purpose import rules of 1989. Izhevsk added a fully adjustable rear sight (code “A”) and a polished blue finish, distinguishing it from military-issue pistols.
The steel frame and slide wear matching deep-blued finishes that contrast with the checkered black polymer grip panels. All factory markings are crisp, including “Made in RUSSIA by IMEZ” and the K.B.I. import stamp.
This pistol operates on the simple blowback, double-action/single-action system Makarovs are known for. A slide-mounted safety serves double duty as a decocker, and an exposed hammer allows both carry and rapid follow-up shots.
Collectibility is boosted by the original Russian brown leather holster, two correct magazines, cleaning rod, maintenance tool, and a box numbered to the pistol. These complete kits are increasingly hard to find in comparable condition.
