Colt Junior .25 ACP Pre-1968 Pocket Pistol – Spanish-Made Astra Contract, 2.25” Barrel, Collectible Micro-Size Semi-Auto
This 1965 Colt Junior is a micro-sized, 6-shot .25 ACP semi-automatic built under contract by Astra-Unceta in Spain and imported two years before the 1968 Gun Control Act pocket-pistol ban. Finished in blued carbon steel with checkered hardwood grips, it represents the final Colt-branded pocket pistol line and carries dual frame and slide serials with a “MADE IN SPAIN / FOR COLT’S” stamp that collectors value.

Contract manufacture by Astra-Unceta gives this Colt Junior the same mechanical lineage as the Astra Cub while retaining Colt branding, markings, and packaging. The pistol features a single-action blowback system, an external rowel hammer, and a heel-style magazine release—traits that fit its 1960s pocket-carry purpose.
Its 2.25-inch carbon-steel barrel, fixed integral front blade, and rear groove sight keep the profile sleek. Checkered hardwood grips with Colt medallions add trademark styling and provide secure purchase on the micro frame.
Because it entered the United States prior to the 1968 import restrictions, this CC-suffix example is fully transferable without later-era compliance concerns. Collectors also appreciate the model’s compatibility with the factory .22 Short conversion kit (not included), underscoring its role as Colt’s last true pocket pistol design.
