Springfield Armory Echelon 4.5F Comp 9mm Luger Semi-Auto Pistol with Integral Compensator & Optics-Ready Slide
The Echelon 4.5F Comp is Springfield Armory’s full-size, striker-fired flagship that adds a single-port compensator machined directly into the slide and barrel. This feature reduces muzzle rise without increasing overall length, keeping the pistol duty-holster compatible while delivering faster follow-up shots. A patented Variable Interface System (VIS) lets you mount more than 30 micro red-dot footprints directly to the slide, and a serialized Central Operating Group chassis allows future grip-module swaps without an FFL transfer. Fully ambidextrous controls, a flat-faced trigger, and tritium/luminescent sights round out a package designed for modern defensive, duty, or competition roles.

Details
The integral single-port compensator is cut into both the hammer-forged, Melonite-treated 4.5-inch barrel and the slide. This design shaves felt recoil and muzzle flip while preserving the overall duty-length profile, so standard holsters still fit.
Springfield’s VIS optics-mounting system uses interchangeable indexing pins machined into the slide. With no adapter plates required, more than 30 popular micro red-dot patterns can be mounted directly, keeping the sight low to the bore for faster target acquisition.
A serialized Central Operating Group chassis houses the striker-fired mechanism. Because the chassis is the firearm, users can purchase additional grip modules of different sizes or colors and install them at home without an FFL transfer.
Ambidextrous slide-stop levers and a reversible magazine release accommodate left- and right-handed shooters. The flat-faced trigger incorporates an integral safety blade and breaks at a reported 4.5–5 lb with a short, tactile reset for consistent shot-to-shot control.
Tritium/luminescent iron sights feature a high-visibility front dot and a Tactical Rack U-notch rear, giving a clear sight picture in all lighting. Manufactured by HS Produkt in Croatia for Springfield Armory, the pistol carries an MSRP of $749.
