This Mossberg 590M combines the proven 590 action with the first commercially successful double-stack detachable-magazine system for pump shotguns. Outfitted with a heavy-wall, heat-shielded 18.5-inch barrel, ghost-ring sights, and Mossberg’s tool-less FLEX stock adapter, this full-size 12 gauge offers rapid reloads, a rifle-like sight picture, and quick furniture changes. The installed 6-position collapsible stock and vertical-grip forend add modern ergonomics while the included OEM furniture lets you configure the gun to suit different roles.

The 590M platform stands out for its detachable magazines. The supplied 10-round magazine uses polymer construction with hardened-steel feed lips and stabilizing ribs, locking firmly with an ambidextrous forward-mounted release that stays clear of the pump stroke.
An 18.5-inch heavy-wall barrel capped by a perforated steel heat shield echoes the military-grade 590A1. The barrel is threaded for a CYL choke and is chambered for 2 3/4-inch 12 gauge shells only.
Factory ghost-ring rear and wing-protected blade front sights deliver a crisp, rifle-like sight picture that speeds target acquisition, whether you are running buckshot or slugs.
Mossberg’s FLEX system lets you swap stocks without tools. The shotgun arrives with a six-position collapsible stock installed for adjustable length of pull, but the package also includes the OEM full-length buttstock and pistol-grip module, allowing quick conversion from a compact defensive setup to a traditional sporting layout.
The receiver is machined from aluminum alloy and finished in matte blue to match the barrel. A robust ordnance-steel barrel, ambidextrous tang safety, and synthetic furniture keep overall weight manageable while maintaining durability.
