Built at China’s Jianshe Arsenal in 1963, this early Type 56 SKS combines a milled receiver, screw-in chrome-lined barrel, and reliable short-stroke gas piston action. The rifle bears the triangle "26" arsenal stamp and KSI Pomona CA import mark, confirming its commercial Norinco import status. A hardwood stock in classic orange shellac finish and intact bayonet lug reflect its original military configuration, while the included detachable magazines boost capacity beyond the factory 10-round box.

What’s Included
- Factory fixed 10-round steel box magazine (installed)
- Two detachable 30-round steel “duckbill” SKS magazines
Manufactured during China’s early 1960s production run, this SKS represents the classic milled-receiver, screw-in-barrel pattern favored by collectors for its robust construction. The triangle “26” arsenal mark places it firmly within Jianshe’s historically significant output.
The 20.5" chrome-lined barrel offers corrosion resistance and extended service life. Paired with the proven short-stroke gas piston system, it delivers reliable cycling with standard 7.62x39 ammunition.
Original military features—hooded post front sight, tangent-leaf rear sight with an 18.9" radius, ventilated wooden gas-tube handguard, and bayonet lug—remain intact, preserving the rifle’s as-issued character. The bayonet and cleaning rod are not present, leaving the lug unobstructed for future restoration if desired.
The hardwood stock retains its orange shellac finish and semi-pistol-grip profile. A sling swivel is factory-installed for field carry. Overall length of pull measures 12.5", matching period Chinese military dimensions.
While the rifle ships with its original 10-round fixed box magazine, it also includes two detachable 30-round steel magazines, expanding capacity to 30+1 rounds and providing flexibility for range or field use.
