The Tavor SAR keeps the full energy of .308 Win/7.62 NATO while staying just 26.75 inches long, thanks to its bullpup layout. The 16.5 inch CrMoV steel barrel sits rearward in the chassis, giving rifle-length ballistics without sacrificing maneuverability.
Its short-stroke gas piston operates with a four-position adjustable regulator, including an "Off" setting for suppressed single-shot use or manual cycling. This flexibility lets shooters tune the rifle to a wide range of ammunition and environmental conditions.
The barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome lined for extended service life, and threaded 5/8x24 to accept standard muzzle brakes or suppressors. A 1:12 twist rate stabilizes common 150–175 grain projectiles.
A full-length Picatinny top rail integrates low-profile flip-up iron sights that stow flush until needed. M-LOK slots on the polymer handguard allow quick attachment of accessories without adding bulk.
Ambidextrous features—paddle-style magazine release, 45° safety lever, and non-reciprocating side charging handle—support right- or left-handed operation. The rifle feeds from readily available SR-25/LR-308 pattern magazines, and one 25-round PMAG is included.
