This Expert Grade rebuild starts with a Springfield receiver in the 1.56-million serial range, placing original manufacture in the thick of WWII. CMP expert armorers inspected, gauged, and refinished the receiver before fitting a new 24-inch carbon-steel barrel for optimal accuracy and service life.
The rifle retains the classic gas-operated long-stroke action that made the M1 Garand legendary for reliability. A parkerized finish protects both receiver and barrel, giving a uniform service-grade appearance that resists corrosion.
New walnut stock and handguards, finished in a dark oil, carry the CMP eagle cartouche. The fresh wood adds structural integrity and a clean, sharp look while maintaining traditional U.S. military styling.
Standard iron sights—wing-protected front blade and adjustable rear aperture with elevation drum and windage knob—offer precise, mechanical repeatability without optics. An 8-round en-bloc clip maintains the rifle’s original loading system and historic character.
CMP provenance confirms the rifle’s legality, authenticity, and serviceability, providing peace of mind for collectors and shooters alike.
