Ruger’s patented top-mounted loaded-chamber indicator gives both visual and tactile confirmation of a chambered round without requiring a press check. An ambidextrous manual thumb safety, trigger safety blade, striker blocker, magazine disconnect, and reversible magazine release round out a comprehensive safety suite.
The compact frame is molded from glass-filled nylon and ships with interchangeable flat and arched backstraps, allowing the shooter to tailor the grip profile. Despite its abbreviated 3.5-inch alloy-steel barrel, the SR9c accepts full-size SR9 magazines, increasing on-hand capacity to 17+1 while maintaining a shorter carry length with the standard 10-round magazine.
Front and rear slide serrations, a black-nitride finish, and drift-adjustable three-dot sights with an elevation screw provide service-grade durability and easy manipulation. The integral accessory rail supports lights or lasers, enhancing the pistol’s defensive versatility.
