The Mod. 3 Defender OSP features a hammer-forged 4-inch barrel with a protective Melonite finish and a 1:10 right-hand twist for persistent accuracy. Its slide comes factory-milled for popular micro red-dot footprints and ships with a flush cover plate installed, giving owners instant optic flexibility without aftermarket machining.
Enhanced U-profile serrations at the front and rear of the slide improve purchase during press checks and administrative handling, even with gloved hands. Coupled with a flat-faced trigger and a bladed trigger safety, the striker-fired action offers a consistent break while retaining the XD family’s passive safety system.
The black polymer frame keeps overall weight down and incorporates a passive grip safety that disengages naturally in a shooting grip. A standard accessory rail under the dust cover accepts weapon lights or lasers for duty or bedside roles.
Steel sights combine a high-visibility red fiber-optic front with a low-profile white-dot rear, providing a clear day-bright sight picture that co-witnesses with many micro red-dot optics.
