NEF Pardner SB2 10 Gauge Single-Shot Shotgun, 27.5-Inch Full-Choke Barrel, 3 1/2-Inch Chamber
This NEF Pardner Model SB2 is a hard-to-find 10 gauge, 3 1/2-inch magnum, single-shot shotgun built on the strong SB2 frame. It features a 27.5-inch fixed Full-choke carbon-steel barrel, an external hammer with transfer-bar safety, and an aftermarket ventilated recoil pad added to the Monte Carlo hardwood stock. The serial prefix “NH” dates it to post-1986 production, placing it among the last NEF-marked guns made before the brand was retired in 2007.

What’s Included
- NEF Pardner Model SB2 10 Gauge single-shot shotgun with 27.5-inch barrel
- Aftermarket ventilated recoil pad installed
Chambered for 3 1/2-inch 10 gauge shells, this Pardner SB2 offers maximum magnum payload in a straightforward break-action design. The fixed Full choke delivers tight patterns, making it suitable for long-range turkey or waterfowl loads when restored to service.
The SB2 receiver is the heavy-duty frame rated by the factory for interchangeable rifle barrels, adding strength beyond standard shotgun frames. NEF’s barrel-swap program once allowed owners to configure these guns for various calibers, underscoring the receiver’s robustness.
A transfer-bar safety, protected under U.S. Patent 3,988,845, blocks the firing pin until the trigger is deliberately pulled, providing an added safety measure over traditional exposed-hammer shotguns.
Production of NEF-marked firearms ceased in 2007, and the H&R factory closed in 2015, giving late-production examples like this one added collectability for fans of the brand.
The shotgun wears a matte-blued carbon-steel barrel and receiver, plain oil-finished hardwood furniture, and a single brass-bead front sight for quick target acquisition.
