Romarm/Cugir WASR-10 7.62x39 AKM-Pattern Semi-Automatic Rifle
The Romanian-built WASR-10 delivers authentic AKM heritage with modern import compliance. Made in Cugir’s military factory, this 7.62x39 rifle features a chrome-lined, cold-hammer-forged barrel, a forged front trunnion, and a stamped steel receiver reinforced for durability. A left-side dovetail rail accepts Soviet-pattern optics, while hardwood furniture preserves the classic look. Collectors and shooters alike value the early-2000s configuration with its removable thread protector and undimpled receiver.

Built on the same production line as the Romanian military PM md. 63, this WASR-10 keeps the proven long-stroke gas piston system yet meets U.S. import rules through its 14x1 LH thread protector and U.S.-made parts. The chrome-lined, 16.25-inch barrel resists corrosion from steel-case ammunition and ends with standard AK threads once the protector is removed by a qualified gunsmith.
The stamped steel receiver lacks magazine well dimples, instead using reinforcement plates—an identifying trait of early WASR imports. A robust phosphate and paint enamel finish guards against wear, while the forged front trunnion delivers added strength where it counts.
Hardwood handguards and a fixed hardwood buttstock give the rifle its traditional orange-brown appearance. Black polymer grip panels with checkering improve purchase without straying from the classic aesthetic.
For optics, the left-side dovetail rail accepts quick-detach Soviet-pattern side mounts, allowing users to add scopes or red dots without altering the rifle. Standard adjustable post front and tangent rear sights provide reliable iron-sight utility out to 1,000 meters.
