The heart of this MK18 pistol is its 10.3-inch chrome-lined, cold-hammer-forged CMV steel barrel. The 1:7 twist rate stabilizes modern 5.56mm projectiles, while the 1/2-28 TPI threads accept standard muzzle devices or suppressor mounts.
Daniel Defense’s MK18 RIS II handguard is forged from 6061-T6 aluminum and carries the same National Stock Number markings found on SOCOM-issued rails. At 9.55 inches, it provides ample rail space for lights, lasers, or grips without overhanging the muzzle.
Both upper and lower receivers are precision-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with a black Type III hard-coat anodizing. An enlarged, flared magazine well speeds reloads, while ambidextrous safety selectors make the pistol user-friendly for left- or right-handed shooters.
The M16-profile bolt carrier group is magnetic-particle inspected to ensure strength and durability under high round counts. Direct-impingement operation keeps the system light and familiar to AR-15 users.
A factory-installed SB Tactical SBA3 brace offers five-position adjustability and a Velcro strap for additional support, maintaining the firearm’s pistol designation while enhancing control.
